Meet The Board
-
“Jaywalking” Jay
Board Chair
After moving to Apopka with his family, Jay looked for an opportunity to meet others in the area by joining a local run club. After exhausting multiple searches on social media, he half-heartedly posted an inquiry on NextDoor "is there a run club in the area? If not I'll create one." Founding member and Board Treasurer Shelby challenged his query and said "No, but if you create one I'll be the first to join you!" The rest is history.Founded group October 18, 2020

“Goody Two-Shoes” Christina
Vice-Chair
She has managed to make a career out of helping others, it only made sense to have Christina on board to benefit our local community. Fundraisers, clean-ups, volunteer events—there are so many opportunities to help and it starts here.Joined group October 28, 2020

"Keeping Us Straight" Shelby
Board Treasurer
They say that the squeaky wheel gets the grease. Luckily for us, Shelby keeps our wheels greased and turning. Literally from the conception of this club, Shelby has been not only an advocate but an active member. Want to get sh!t done? You can count on Shelby.Joined group October 18, 2020

“Madame Marketing” Sarah
Having a career in promotions and marketing (including promoting marathons!) positions Sarah to be a perfect fit for our board and undoubtedly benefits the growth of our club. I’m looking forward to leveraging her expertise to promote the club and our efforts.

Tyler the “Fund Runner”
No board is complete without someone “counting the beans” as they say. Now that the club is starting to create income from apparel sales and looking to host/sponsor races, it is imperative that we are held accountable (pun intended) in addition to being transparent with collection and thoughtful with our spending.

Amy the "Cruise Director"
A champion of the club since the beginning, she has already suggested several ideas that push the club to be better and better: the polar plunge (which got ARC involved with the Wekiva Trust and raised over $600), Saturday runs, themed runs, and that’s just to name a few examples! She was a natural choice to bring “on board” to continually generate ideas to keep the club fun and exciting.
